Speedram 2 2

Rated /5

Speedram is a small program which occupies only around 500Ko of memory. The way it works is simple : it is based on the fact
that Windows doesn’t manage the memory very well. Eg. When you open Word, Word will take up 20Mo of read-write memory. However when you close Word again, you will recover only 10Mo. 5Mo will be reserved for an evenual faster re-launch of Word. But 5Mo will be lost. Windows will only free this memory if another program really needs it. Speedram works based on this knowledge and tricks Windows. It will force Windows into giving it 50Mo of memory which it will then free for use by other applications so that these applications run using the read-write memory rather than the slower, virtual memory from the hard disk.
Compatible Windows XP.
